WATER POLLUTION

The water pollution is an important problem that we have in the world. This water pollute the lakes, the rivers... all the world.

We want to study the germination of the seeds in pollution agents.

Material: sheet, cotton wool, scissors, permanent marker, a 25 ml test-tube, a 100 ml test-tube, three Erlenmeyer o 3 precipitation vessels, lentils or soya seeds, distilled water, one pipette and one pipum, polluting solution.

Procedure: Take 10 ml of the polluting solution and put them in a 100 ml test-tube.
Fill it with distilled water up to 100 ml.
Pour this solution into a new Erlenmeyer labeled " polluting 0.1 ".
Take 10 ml of the "polluting 0.1" solution and put them in a 100 ml test-tube.
Fill the test-tube with distilled water up to 100 ml.
Pour this solution into a new Erlenmeyer labeled "polluting 0.01".
Take 10 ml of the " polluting 0.01" solution and put them into a 100 ml test-tube.

Fill the test-tube with distilled water up to 100 ml.

Pour this solution into a new Erlenmeyer labeled as " polluting 0.001".

How to prepare culture sheet:

Put a cotton wool layer on every Petri sheet.

Place 10 seeds on the sheet.

With the 25 ml test-tube, take 15 ml of the polluting solution and water the cellulose of the Petri sheet. Cover it and mark it so as you can identify the type of polluting and your name.

Repeat the procedure with the other 0.1 and 0.01 polluting solutions.

Water the fourth sheet with water alone.

Take the culture sheets to the windowsill.

We made this experience with diferences substances:

NaOH, NH3, NaCl.

We have four Petri sheets:

In one of them we put distilled water.

In the second, we put 10 ml of the polluting solution with water

In the third, we put 15 ml of the polluting solution with water.

In the fourth, we put only polluting solution.

RECICLING OIL

The last day we go to the chemical laboratory, to make soap with recicling oil, I mean that this oil has gone through before the skillet and free state with meat, tomato, ...

Steps to make this soap:

1.Measure 20 ml. oil in a Erlenmeyer I and add 10 ml of water.

2.Weigh 4.5 NaOH and put it into a new Erlenmeyer II then remove.

3.Take 15ml. th distilled water and put it into the Erlenmeyer II remove it for ten minutes.

4.Throw the e
rlenmeyer's II liquid into the I and b quit in a move it and leave it to dry dock.

Our objectives are:

- Make soap with recicling oil.

MICRO-CLIMATES IN THE CITY

Worksheet 6
Last day we went first to see the differents instruments of mesure in the fifth floor of the school:
- thermometer: for the temperature

-anemometer: for the speed of the wind
-hygrometer: for the humity.

After we went to the roof of the school and in front of the school in Casp 25 to saw and mesure these parameters.

We saw this grafics and our conclusion are next to the floor of the differents places, the temperature is higher than 2 metres above of the floor.

ECOLOGYCAL FOOTPRINT

Worksheet 5

MARCOS FOOTPRINT

LAIA'S FOOTPRINT

The last day we mesure the footprint and we draw it. After we talkabout the ecological footprint.
Today we look in a web (
http://www.stanleyparkecology.ca/programs/activities/howbigft.php), in this web we can mesure our living space with the answer of diferets questions.

We find the result of the cm2 of footprints:

1st: multiply the mesure of the width for the length of the footprint

2nd:the result we divided for the living space, and we find the result.

WAYS OF TRANSPORTS

Worksheet 4

The last tuesday we went to the street, the work was mesure the width and the lenght of Gran Via, Pau Claris and Casp (they are three streets next to the school). For these activity we need: a counter and a tape mesure.
-First we mesure the large of our step with the tape mesure and the result was 43 cm.
-After that, from one wall we cross the street to the another wall and we count the steps.
-And finaly we multiply our steps by the number of the steps and we make the sane with the sidewalk.
RESULTS:

We can see:
Pau Claris is a important street for the mobility but not for the people because of it is the most thin, on the other hand Casp is not for the cars is best for the people. Gran Via is the most important street than this three, is the more width and large is it is one of the important street of Barcelona.
